PEARL ELIZABETH BARNES Peacefully with her family by her side, Pearl passed away on November 16, 2005 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her husband Phil, brothers, Perry and Frankie as well as her special friend Vern Goodman. Pearl will be sadly missed by her loving children, Penny (Bill), Colleen (Harvey) and Phyllis (Roger). She also leaves her much-loved grandchildren, Shannon (Rob), Kathy (Colin), Roger Jr., Gene (Colleen), Craig (Leianne); and great-granddaughters, McKynzie and Emily. Pearl spent her time at home raising her family then returning to business school to further her education and re-enter the workforce for places like Pitblado and Hoskins and the St. Boniface Hospital. After retiring, Pearl was blessed with the opportunity to enjoy many trips. She had a passion for music, especially the piano. Pearl had a special love of animals. She was known for her kindness and always put others before herself which she did by volunteering for Winnipeg Harvest. For a number of years Pearl found great joy in purchasing stuffed animals and donating them to the Salvation Army for children at Christmas. Pearl was truly courageous for her constant struggle with her illness especially over the last couple of years. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. At this time the family would like to express their sincerest gratitude and appreciation to all of the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Centre, especially Jack and Tammy, for their exceptional care and kindness shown to Pearl (we are forever grateful). We also would like to thank the nurses and staff at Concordia Hospital, 3rd Floor West for their compassionate care. In keeping with Pearl's wishes, a private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6 or the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, Unit 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4C2. Friends and family are invited to email condolences to condolences@nbardal.mb.ca Mom, you'll forever be in our hearts, until we meet again. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
