After a short stay in Eriksdale, he moved to the Gimli area where he married Linda Mattern. They were preparing to celebrate their 25th wedding next Valentine's Day. Leonard was a kind, devoted and caring husband. He sought to provide a safe and secure home for Linda. For the past few years he resided at Betel Home in Gimli where he enjoyed the staff and the activities available to him. Leonard has been a faithful and supportive member of the Bayview Evangelical Free Church in Gimli. His faith has been expressed by love, patience, kindness and gentleness. Leonard was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jane Wilson; and his brother Gordon Wilson. He is survived by his wife Linda and in his own words his Bayview family . At the wish of Leonard and Linda, cremation has taken place and a memorial service of celebration of the life of Leonard Wilson will be held on Tuesday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bayview Evangelical Free Church, 8 South Colonization Rd., Gimli with Pastor Walter Reimer officiating.
