Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUNE MEDLICOTT (LAING) nee HARDE Peacefully on November 17, 2005 with her family at her side at her residence at Park Manor Personal Care Home. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dorothy (Bob), Norma, Bruce (Carol), Vernon (Louise) and Phyllis (John); as well as her 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, her brothers, Gordon (Margaret), Keith (Sharon), Kenneth (Leola); sisters, Hazel, Alice and Gladys (Jim); and many other loving relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Roy and Norman and sisters, Myrtle and Clara. 6th child of George and Violet Harde, June was born on June 16, 1924 in Miami, MB. Miami was home for most of June's life, and it was always the home she carried in her heart. It was here that she grew up on the family homestead, attended school in the Opawaka school district, farmed and raised five children with her first husband Ernest Laing. Her happy memories of curling, dancing, playing cards and gardening in the rich Miami soil gave her great joy, as well as her fond childhood memories with her sisters and brothers. She took great pride in her gardens and her prize-winning gladioli. June spent many happy years when she returned to Miami with her second husband Norman Medlicott after living in Winnipeg for a number of years. After Norman's passing, June returned to Winnipeg to be close to her children and grandchildren. We are deeply grateful for the support and care given to our mother and our family during her final days by the wonderful staff at the Park Manor Personal Care Home. Funeral services will take place at the Miami Community Hall on Wednesday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1S1. Arrangements entrusted to: Doyle's Funeral Chapel, Carman, MB (doyleschapels.com)

I miss you Aunty June and your hearty laugh. I still make your recipe for oven beef stew. I have realized that the only way to make it perfect is to add homegrown canned tomatoes. I have now realized the joy and value of canning your own garden produce. It is invaluable. There really is nothing better than homegrown canned tomatoes. It makes the recipe complete. Thank you Aunty June for our visits, you really were one of my favorite great-aunts, and not because of your cooking talents, but because of your warm hospitality. I think of you every time I make that stew! Love your great-niece Kim. - Posted by: Kimberley Rawluk (Great Neice) on: Feb 05, 2017
