NIOMA STOKOLOFF (nee BRUDY) Nioma Rodelle (nee Brudy) Stokoloff, aged 80 passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 15, 2005 with her family by her side. Nioma is predeceased by her husband Ike 1997; parents, Molly and Leon Brudy; her in-laws, Edith and Morris Stokoloff; her brothers and sister-in-laws, Norman and Clara Brudy; Saul and Betty Brudy and Dan Brudy. Nioma is survived by sons, Elliot (Linda), Richard (Sharon); granddaughters, Kathy and Ainsley. The girls were the apple of her eye. Nioma is also survived by her sister-in-law Nena Brudy and along with numerous nieces and nephews. Nioma was born in St. Paul MN. At the age of 4 Nioma moved to Canada with her family to Regina. Nioma and her family moved years later to Winnipeg. Nioma moved back to the states and worked at Macy's in New York 1945 - 1948. In 1948 Nioma moved back to Winnipeg. Nioma met her late Husband Ike, and the following year were married. Nioma also worked for a short time at Gambles. Nioma was an activate member of Bnai Brith Winnipeg and was past president of Garden City Chapter. During her busy years Nioma delivered Meals on Wheels and was very busy making baby layettes for unwed mothers at the Mount Carmel Clinic. Nioma was known for always being there when someone needed help and many cups of coffee were served at her kitchen table. Nioma will be missed by all. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the Staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their support and compassion during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes 102-310 Broadway Ave., or a charity of your choice. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 17 at the Chesed Shel Emes, 1023 Main, with burial at the Bnay Abraham Cemetery. Shiva was observed at 241 Burrin Ave. Pallbearers were Stan, Marc, and David Zynoberg, Irv Offerman, Norman Addaway, Jerome Avery, Honorary Pallbearer Harry Minuk, Martin Brudy.

  • Rick, we are very sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I know it is very hard. On November 1 my grandmother passed away. Her name is Lillian Gagnon.
