CHARLES STUTSKY
Born: Jun 06, 1930
Date of Passing: Nov 17, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES STUTSKY June 6, 1930 - November 17, 2005 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, November 17, 2005 surrounded by his daughters, Charlie, beloved husband of Marlene, passed away at his home West of Winnipeg Beach. Charlie will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Marlene; his three daughters, Pat Newman (Del), Kim Sylvester (Daryl), Marilyn Kalb (Jim); seven grandchildren, Brandon (Alisa) and Blake; Amanda (Trevor), Leigh (Amber) and Lacey; Nicole and Samantha; three great-grandchildren, Alan, Taylor and Charlie. He is also survived by his brothers, John, Bill (Elsie) and sister Peggy Kibsey (Adam) along with many nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his parents Tom and Teenie Stutsky and his infant daughter Sharon. Charlie was born and raised on the family farm west of Winnipeg Beach. He spent most of his life there, only leaving for a short time when he and Marlene moved to Edmonton after they were married, where he worked for Imperial Oil. But the calling of what he loved to do was too great. So they returned to take over the family farm, where they raised their three daughters. For many years they successfully operated a cattle and grain farm changing to straight grain in the early 1970's. He took great pride in his crops and was very proud of winning an award from Pickseed Canada Inc. in 1989 for 400 Plus Timothy Yield Achievement Award, his yield was 537 lbs. per acre. Charlie retired from farming 15 years ago because a heart condition would not allow him to continue. Charlie and Marlene loved to camp and spent many summers with their children and grandchildren camping. They also loved driving and taking day trips, later spending many winters travelling the Southern United States. Charlie loved to read, listen to music and watch western movies. He routinely drove the country roads inspecting all the fields and yards to check for any changes, so his family started lovingly calling him the Interlake Inspector . He lovingly cared for all of Marlene's needs at home for many years during her illness until which time his own illness no longer allowed him to. He was a very sociable person, meeting many new people and making many new friends later in life at The Betel Home in Gimli, where Marlene now resides. He loved to have visitors and truly glowed with pride when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren would visit. Charlie's family wishes to express their gratitude to the dedicated workers from Homecare, who cared for him with caring professionalism and honest compassion. This allowed him to stay at home throughout the length of his illness; fulfilling his wish of remaining at home during his final days. Charlie's pallbearers were chosen by him and this is what he penned: Allen Stutsky, Vance Stutsky, Warren Willis, Jack Pemkowski, Tom Hofer and Peter Pakulak. His honorary pallbearers are Rudy Tomchuk, Albert and Mindi Markusson, Peter Borgford, Nick Huminicki, Laddie Capuska, Dave Stutski and Andy Yablonski. And all my good friends that phoned and dropped over for coffee in the past few years during my illness. Viewing will be held on Monday, November 21, 2005 between 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 1st Avenue, Gimli, MB. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Winnipeg Beach, MB. Interment to follow at the Holy Rosary Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends or family may send memorial donations to the Gimli Community Health Centre Healing Garden, P.O. Box 250, Gimli, MB, R0C 1B0. Forever in our hearts, until we meet again. Charlie, Dad, Bobbie Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
