SAMUEL GERALD CROMARTY It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Samuel Gerald Cromarty, aged 74 years, on November 20, 2005. He was predeceased by his parents Edna and Russell and a brother Allan. Left to cherish his loving memory will be his wife of 55 years, Jean; his 7 children Christine (Jim) Evans, Linda (Brian) Taylor, Cathy (Tex) Monkman, Diane (Ron), Tim (Robyn), Andy (Selena) and Susan (Jack) Bakker; 13 grandchildren Shannon, David, Trevor, Melissa, Allyson, Andrew, Justin, Angela, Tracy, Theresa, Bobby, Billy and Timmy; 8 greatgrandchildren Cody, Cole, Caylin, Austin, Kason, Erica, Ashton and Journey. He is also survived by his sisters Dairdrie (Charlie) Frost and Marlene Cooke and their families; as well as his brother-in-law Oakley (Karen) Gillespie and his family. Gerald was born and lived all his life in Selkirk. He retired in 1989 after working 43 years at the Manitoba Rolling Mills. Those who knew him will remember his quick wit, twinkle in his eye and quick smile. He was devoted to his family and always looked forward to all family gatherings. He took great pride in all his children's, grandchildren's and greatgrandchildren's accomplishments and activities. Gerald was a member of St. Clements Anglican Church, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Wildlife Federation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo and casino trips. He was an avid Blue Jays baseball fan and enjoyed trips to Minneapolis and Toronto to watch his team play. He enjoyed his travels to Hawaii, Florida, California and Western Canada. Special thanks go to the doctors and nurses at the Selkirk General Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Clements Anglican Church in Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1101-191 Lombard Ave, Winnipeg R3B 0X1, or the Selkirk General Hospital Palliative Care Unit , Box 5000, Selkirk R1A 2M2.
