Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN LORIN LEDGER 1934 - 2005 Jack died from prostate cancer on Friday, November 18, 2005. Jack was born at home in North Battleford, SK, the second of two boys. The family moved to Winnipeg when Jack was nine years of age. Jack took his subsequent schooling in Winnipeg, completing his MD and psychiatric studies at the Manitoba Medical College. After a few years at the Health Sciences Centre, Jack worked predominantly in the private practice of psychiatry. He particularly enjoyed his time working in what was then the Keewatin area of the Northwest Territories through the Northern Medical Unit of the University of Manitoba. Jack married Patricia Wright in 1960. Pat and Jack spent most of their married life in Winnipeg, although they moved to Salmon Arm, BC in the early 80's, returning to Winnipeg in 1985. In 1987, they moved to Kenora and stayed in Kenora until retirement in 1998, then returned to Winnipeg once again. They have three children, Deborah, Ian and Colin. There are six grandchildren, Deborah and Brian Tardiff with Michael and Carlin, Ian and Janet with Brin and Keilan, Colin and Wendy with Ashton and Sarah. The family has many good times together, in particular at their camp at Shoal Lake, ON. The entire family now lives in Winnipeg. Jack's brother, Charles, lives in Toronto with his wife Nancy. Jack said the support given to him by his family and friends, and the help provided by CancerCare Manitoba, Palliative Care, and by Dr. Richard Blouw was immeasurable. He wished to have his appreciation passed on to everyone involved. Memorial service to take place at St. George's Anglican Church, 168 Wilton St., on Thursday, November 24, at 1:00 p.m. Donations could be sent to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot, R3N 0V9 or to the charity of your choice.
