JONATHAN KENNEDY WATSON April 6,1994 - November 20, 2005 Peacefully on November 20, 2005 at Hunter Memorial Hospital in Teulon, after a 7 year battle with Neuroblastoma, Jonathan became one of God's angels at the young age of 11. Jonathan was a fighter . . . throughout his battle with cancer he maintained a quiet strength and determination. Jon was not a complainer and could almost always find the bright-side of any situation even when he was very ill. He tried to teach his parents to not sweat the little stuff and to just focus on the important things in life. He loved to curl in the winter and play golf and baseball in the summer and ride his quad almost all year round. In the world of Cancer Jonathan was a pioneer. He participated willingly in many of the newest treatments for Neuroblastoma. It was always our hope that one of these new treatments would cure Jonathan or at least keep his disease stable, which many of them did. Much of what was learned will go on to help other kids. Jon loved his family and everyone was his friend. He will be so greatly missed by his parents Ken and Brenda and brother Kent, grandparents Gordon and Ruth Watson, grandmother Dorothy Jahns, uncle Bob and auntie Kim (Brandon, Kaleigh), auntie Carrolyn and uncle Jim (Tracy, Lee and families), auntie Ann and uncle Neil (Ryan, Kirby and families), cousins Diane Evans and Grant Magnusson and families, as well as many, many great aunts and uncles and cousins. Jonathan was preceded by his Grandpa Charlie Jahns and Auntie Donna Chamberland as well as his Great Grandparents Gordon and Irene Kennedy. We would like to thank Dr. Sara Israels and the Pediatric Oncology Team at Cancer Care Manitoba. The Pediatric Nurses at Cancer Care, Cathy, Jenny and Wanda. The Nursing Staff on CK5 at Children's Hospital in Winnipeg. Thanks to Dr. Loudon and the staff at Hunter Memorial Hospital and Clinic. A special thanks to Dr. Loudon, Dr. Israels and Cathy Bourne for their co-operation and understanding which allowed Jonathan to be at home surrounded by his family right to the end of his illness. There will be a celebration of Jonathan's Life at Teulon/Rockwood Centennial Centre on Thursday, November 24 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: The Pediatric Oncology Family Camp c/o Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg; Teulon Hunter Memorial Health District Foundation, Teulon, MB or Teulon United Church, Teulon, MB. Gone but Never Forgotten . . . . We love you Jon MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
