HERBERT WEGERT It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Herbert Wegert, on Monday, November 21, 2005, at the Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 85 years. Herbert is survived by his beloved wife, Frieda (nee Bauer) of 60 years; son Karl (Leila) and their children, Tessa Repsher (Grant) and Karel-Anton; son Hans (Heather) and their children, Kristen (Megan), Ian, John Rutley, Colleen Rutley and Gillian Rutley. He was predeceased by his brother Hermann in 1989. On July 20, 1920, Herbert was born in Leonberg, Poland and came to Winnipeg with his family in 1953. He worked as an upholsterer until the age of 68 and then enjoyed fishing and traveling in his retirement. He was a wonderful Opa to his grandchildren, who loved his inventions and games. Herbert's funeral service will be held on Friday, November 25 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut Street, with Pastor Heimo Bachmeyer officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Herbert's memory may be made to the C.N.I.B., 1080 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3.
