OLGA BESYK (BOITSON) The family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mom and Baba on November 21, 2005 at Luther Home in Winnipeg at the age of 83. Olga will be lovingly remembered by her six children, Joan Zaluski; Dianna Huggins; Judy Stanko (John); Barry Besyk (Diane); Jerry Besyk (Judy) and Kenny Besyk (Mercy). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her sister Beatrice Hykaway of Winnipeg Beach. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Olga was predeceased by her beloved husband John in 1983; her parents, brothers and sisters and son-in-law Norman Huggins. Olga was born June 13, 1922, in the Winnipeg Beach area, where she lived until moving to Winnipeg in 1955. She enjoyed being a homemaker, playing Bingo and playing cards with her family. Her sense of humour will be terribly missed. She was an armchair sports fan, constantly yelling in Ukrainian at the teams in the hopes they would take her advice. The family would like to extend much gratitude to the staff at Luther Home for the wonderful years of loving care given to our Mom and Baba for the last five years. Your care and assistance are greatly appreciated in making the last few years of Olga's life enjoyable for her. Pallbearers will be Olga's grandsons, Leslie Zaluski, Lee Huggins, Jason Stanko, Bradley Besyk, Trevor Besyk, Jeremy Besyk and Brent Besyk. Honorary pallbearer Kenny Besyk Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Luther Home, 1081 Andrews St., Winnipeg, MB R2V 2G9. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 25 at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Mom and Baba we will miss you dearly and love you forever Vichnaya Pam Yat KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Aunty Olga was my favourite aunt & Joan, Dianna, Judy, & Barry were my favourite cousins. I spent more time with them in Winnipeg Beach than any other relatives. I have many fond memories of those days. - Posted by: Borden korolyk (Nephew) on: Nov 13, 2024

  • Aunty Olga saved my life when she was eleven years old and babysiting me when I was a baby. Needless to say, she was my favourite aunt and I will miss her dearly. - Posted by: Bill Korolyk (Family) on: Nov 23, 2005

  • I will miss Aunty Olga very much. We had a lot of fun at Buffalo Bingo, ANAF bingo, and just sitting around chatting, remembering, and laughing. She was always my favourite aunty. Rest in peace, aunty. - Posted by: Sherry Korolyk (Family) on: Nov 23, 2005
