She married Albert Slator in June 1942. She worked in Kresges in Winnipeg for many years where her hard work, cheerfulness and her desire to help others earned her many friends. Bertha was predeceased by eight brothers and one sister. She is mourned by a sister Mae Martin in Oregon; a sister-in-law, Ethel Lawson in Ontario; and the many nieces and nephews she loved. Bertha was a very active member of the Winnipeg Baptist Church and worked as a Sunday school teacher and for the missionaries. Bertha came home to Grandview in her last years where she enjoyed the company of the people of her home town. Many thanks to the fine and caring staff of the Grandview Care Home and the home support personnel. They are all kind and generous people. Bertha will be interred in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg next to her beloved husband Bert. A service will be held in Grandview at a later date to be announced.
