SIGFUS (FUSI) JOHANNSON Peacefully on November 19, 2005 at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB, after a lengthy illness, Sigfus (Fusi) Johannson aged 83 years, dearly beloved husband of Ida Johannson (nee Olson), beloved father of Larry and wife Jocelyn of Summerville, South Carolina, and beloved Afi of two grandchildren Jeff and Ashley. Fusi is also survived by one brother Johann (Joe) of Lundar, MB, and one sister Lillian Bjarnason of Winnipeg, MB, brothers-in-law, Oscar Olson, Harold Olson and wife Blanche, Einar Olson and wife Mae, Elmer Olson and wife Lorraine, August Olson and wife Margaret, as well as numerous nieces and nephews (special thanks to Shannon and Stan Miller). He will also be remembered by his many, many friends. Fusi was predeceased by his sisters, Olafia Johannson and Sigrun Miller, and his brother Thorstein (Steini). Fusi was born October 16, 1922 in Lundar, MB. He proudly served in the Canadian Air Force from 1943 to 1945. In 1952 he married Ida Olson and they farmed for 25 years in the Lundar area. He was an insurance agent in Lundar and a carpenter for 20 years. He was also caretaker of the Lundar Cemetery, and he held executive positions with the BPO Elks, the Lundar Legion and the Lundar Museum. He also served as a volunteer ambulance driver and a firefighter in the Lundar area. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Cemetery.
