Born: Nov 21, 1949
Date of Passing: Nov 22, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHERON CORRINE SCOTT (nee ZAHARIA) 1949 - 2005 It is with deepest sadness and sorrow that the family announces the passing of Sheron, after a lengthy battle with a lung disease on Tuesday, November 22, 2005. Sheron was born on November 21, 1949 in Winnipeg, raised and educated in Transcona. She was the only child of Dodie (1993) and Dot (1996) Zaharia (predeceased). While attending Transcona Collegiate she met her high school sweetheart and they married in 1970. Sheron leaves to mourn her loving husband Brian of 35 years and two sons, Blair (Loray) and Craig; also her three precious grandchildren, Erica 7, Emily 2 and Brady 8. Sheron's grandchildren were the love of her life and they will truly be missed by grandma. When Sheron's boys were growing up she was a very supportive mother when it came to sports at East End C.C., she volunteered for almost everything from being a chauffeur to the canteen lady. When both boys were school age Sheron returned to her career in nursing. Later in life she had a career change and went into the optical field. When Brian became ill, she started her independent company so she could continue to support her family. Sheron was forced into an early retirement in 1991 due to a severe auto accident where she sustained a serious injury and suffered with extensive pain for 14 years. Sheron was not only a devoted mother and grandmother, she was a treasured wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, cousin, neighbour and friend. Her absence in our family will be deeply felt and dearly missed. A special thanks to all our family and friends whom have been so supportive, particularly her cousins Lola, Lois and Lorna, niece Chass and special friends Carol, Margaret, Anita, Kora, Cathy and Julie. Your support, care, visits and special phone calls have helped us through this difficult time. Our special thanks to you. Later in retirement Brian and Sheron were able to spend 10 winters together in Mesa, Arizona. Sheron's favourite spot on earth was her home in the desert, along with all her friends. A special thank you to the staff of the St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative care unit. Sheron's pallbearers will be Dennis Allen, Gary Glowa, Brian Hampton, Jim L'esperance, Raymond Markusa, and Roger Senibald with our gratitude. Funeral service will be held at the Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. W. on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation in Sheron's name can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association or a charity of ones choice.
