SYLVIA WRIGHT On Thursday, November 24, 2005, Sylvia Wright, passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. She will be missed and her memory cherished by her husband Doug; daughter Leslie (Chris) Filopoulos; son Rick (Sharon) Wright; grand-children, Christine, Matthew, Jessica and Lindsay, as well as cousins and her many friends. Sylvia was born in Gilbert Plains, May 24, 1937, the daughter of Nick and Annie Mischuk. After graduating from the University of Manitoba, with a B Sc in Home Economics (1958), she took a position as District Home Economist for the Brandon and Souris area. Sylvia always enjoyed working with young people and in 1971 began her teaching career in St. Vital. Sylvia loved to travel, enjoyed a wide range of music, and took great pleasure in flora and fauna. She was an avid gardener, spending many happy hours enjoying her yard and tending her flowers. After retirement she spent more time travelling and playing golf and bridge. She considered herself fortunate in having formed so many new friendships at Southwood and Marina del Rey. The family wishes to thank the many staff and doctors of Seven Oaks and St. Boniface Hospitals for their kindness, professionalism and compassionate care. A private interment will take place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, those wishing, please make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society or your favourite charity.
