MARY LABA (SEMCHUK) Peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2005 at the Concordia Place, Mary passed away at the age of 99 years. Mary will be sadly missed by her daughter Theresa Rech (Henry deceased) and son-in-law Steve Morris (Jessie deceased); grandchildren, Carol Morris, Allen (Bonnie) Morris, Lynn (Mitch) Manness and Dean (Tammy) Rech of Edmonton; great-grandchildren, Troy and Quinn Morris and Dylan Manness. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Anna Balaniuk; brothers, Matt, Mike and Nick; sisters, Martha, Jennie and Lily; husband John Laba and dear friend George Semchuk. Mary was born in Mountain Road, MB September 2, 1906. She was employed for 20 years at Children's Hospital as a cook, also working at Misericordia hospital as well. Her pride and joy was cooking and also her flower garden. The family thanks all the staff of the 4th floor of Concordia Place Personal Care Home for their wonderful care and kindness to Mary and the family. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 30 at 1:00 p.m. and visitation between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Chaplain John Friesen as officiant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to Concordia Place Personal Care Home, 1000 Molson St., Winnipeg, MB R2K 4L5. She will be dearly missed by all of her family.
