HELEN BUDZAK KLYM (nee DIDUR) It is with deep sadness on November 24, 2005 at Misericordia Place that we announce the death of Helen Klym, aged 84 years. She is survived by her children David (Willa and daughter Christine), Douglas (daughter Olivia, son Daniel and their mother Leonida Truchan). She is also survived by her sister Nadia (Ken) and brother Robert, many nieces and nephews and the extended George Klym family. She was predeceased by her parents Karola and Dmytro, her brother Steve and her husbands Walter Budzak and George Klym. Helen was born in Poland on February 1, 1921 and later immigrated with her family to Canada. They settled in Winnipeg's North End on Aikens Street where Helen grew up. She married Walter Budzak in 1941 and moved to Fort Garry where both sons were born and raised. Her life centred around family and church with Helen active as a Sunday school teacher at Fort Garry United Church. Summers were spent at Falcon Lake where family was always plentiful. She had a lively sense of humour and was a gracious hostess; whether family, friends or the neighbourhood children she was happiest when her house was full. The family later moved to Windsor Park and after Walter passed away, she remained on her own living in her condo at Chimney Ridge where she became part of the congregation of Trinity United Church. In 1974 she began working in the dietary department of the Victoria General Hospital and easily made many friends among the patients and staff members. It was at the Vic that she met her second husband, George Klym, whom she wed in 1980. They shared many things including bowling and always made the best of any situation during the 13 years they would have together. Helen later resided at Rosewood Village and most recently at Misericordia Place. An avid reader with a curious mind, she could always find time to chat. She was extremely loving and supportive of her two sons and their families and loved to tell stories about those experiences. Her smile and laughter were infectious; she will be missed by many. Special cherished moments were the births of her grandchildren, Olivia Frances, Daniel Emmett and Christine Helen. The kids will dearly miss Grandma Helen. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and residents of Rosewalk at Misericordia Place. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3G 1S6. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Road. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. A reception will be held in Green Acres Funeral Home after the interment. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Rd., (204) 222-3241
