ELNA MARIA CHRISTINA WILHEMINA OLEAN (nee ANDERSON) Elna Maria Christina Wilhemina Olean (nee Anderson), affectionately known as Lou, was born in Saskatchewan on November 9, 1910, and died in Winnipeg on November 26, 2005, at the age of 95 years. She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn (Trev) Jones of Qualicum Beach, BC, and Donna (Erwin) Braun of Winnipeg; two grandchildren, Bev (Aldo) Jones and Ray Jones; and one great-grandson Hudson Jones; two sisters-in-law, Melba Anderson and Muriel (Michael) Anderson; many nephews and nieces and their families; and special friends, Regina Dagdick of Winnipeg and Helen Olson of Minneapolis. She was predeceased by her husband John Charles (Casey) in 1983; two sisters, Ester and Ethel; and two brothers, Enoch and Edward. She spent her early years in rural Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Minnesota. She moved to Winnipeg in the early 30s and married her husband there in the late 30s. They lived happily together in Riverview, Grant Park and Fort Garry from 1970 to 2004. She had resided at Oakview Place Personal Care Home from November 2004 until her death. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress and enjoyed curling when she was younger. In later years she spent many happy hours playing cards and shuffleboard and watching curling on T.V. The family wishes to thank her many acquaintances at the Senior club at 2080 Pembina Hwy. as well as the staff at Victoria Hospital, Riverview Health Care Centre and Oakview Place for their many kindnesses and patience and excellent care provided to our mother. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. A donation in Lou's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
