ANNE MCRAE (nee KATZALAY) October 13, 1926 - November 27, 2005 Peacefully, on Sunday, after a short illness, Anne passed away at Concordia Hospital. Anne was predeceased by her husband Scotty McRae; brother Walter and her parents Peter and Emily. Anne is survived by her brothers Howard Katzeley (Pearl) of Calgary and Peter Katzalay of Quisnell, BC; niece Maggie Katzeley (Barry Konzelman); nephew Keith Katzeley of Calgary; 2 great-nephews Jason and Kevin; aunts Mary Soper and Nettie Wonlly both of Kelowna, BC and a few cousins. Anne was born and raised on the family farm in Tyndal, MB, leaving home in her early 20's, moved to Montreal and met and married her husband Scotty. She returned to Manitoba 15 years ago to be closed to her mother Emily and Anne resided in Lions Manor for the past 5 years. She enjoyed reading and socializing at mealtime with the other residents. One of her pleasures was eating out at a variety of restaurants as she enjoyed spicey and exotic foods. Anne's niece Maggie would like to thank Anne's homecare support workers, especially Janice Mowatt for her kindness to Anne and visiting her in the hospital. Thanks to Dr. Drexler for his expert medical care. And a very special thank-you to the nurses and support staff of Concordia Hospital 3E for their compassion and excellent nursing care to keep her comfortable and pain free, and the Lions Resident Council for their cards and words of encouragement to Anne while she was in the hospital. In accordance with Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A private family interment will take place. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
