CLIFFORD ARTHUR HOLMES On Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Art Holmes, three days short of his 80th birthday, passed away. Although Art suffered from Parkinson and Alzheimer disease, it was ultimately a tragic fall that took his life. Art is predeceased by his wife Mary Margaret Holmes; his parents, Florence and Phillip Holmes; his brother Stan Holmes and sister Doreen Holmes. He will be sorely missed by his daughters, Kim Holmes of Brandon and Pam (Mike) Gordon of Winnipeg; his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Bret and Jacinda and his siblings, Hazel (Doug) Frost of Elm Creek, Isabel (Al) Jesse of Ardmore, AB, Beth (Jack) Trent of Comox, BC and his brother Joseph (Barb) Holmes of Brandon, MB, and friend Phyllis. Art Holmes was born in Oakville, MB and moved to Winnipeg as a young adult. He worked for the Department of Fisheries for over 30 years. He loved to dance, golf, play cards, go to the horse races and to travel. He always kept his tool box handy to help others out. Funeral services will be held in the Golden West Centennial Lodge at 811 School Rd. in Winnipeg on Wednesday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. with Major Roxanne Jennings. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at GWCL, as well as Grace Hospital for their compassionate care of their father in his final days. Special thanks to Dr. M. Shepertycky, nurse Gwen DesAultes and Major R. Jennings. Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Parkinson Society or the Salvation Army.
