WILLIAM JAMES MASKELL
Born: Apr 09, 1922
Date of Passing: Nov 22, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM JAMES MASKELL Peacefully with his family's love surrounding him, William J. Maskell passed away on November 22, 2005 at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his sisters Lillian, Isabel, Muriel and Irene, and his son-in-law Jerry. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Pearl, son Bill (Carolyn), daughter Anne; six grandchildren, Christa (Will), Jason, Darryl, Gerrit, Alana, Andrea (Dave), step grandchildren Tanys, Kristin and Aaron, three great-grandchildren Kayla, Courtney and Sabrina; sisters Kay and May and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Bill was born April 9, 1922 in Grosse Isle and married Pearl Wentz in 1948. He worked for the T. Eaton Company for 36 years, interrupted by a 4-year term with Royal Canadian Air Force in the mid 1940's. Retirement from T. Eaton's was short lived and he worked with both Arctic Cat and Polaris until the late 1980's. Wintering in Arizona and a long awaited Panama Cruise were highlights of his retirement time, but most of Bill's contentment came from simple pleasures: family gatherings, visiting his sisters, spirited card games, teasing his family and friends, lifting up others with his humour and wit, learning about and loving nature and God's animals, and listening for hours to his music. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. R. Davey and 6A Medicine staff at St. Boniface General Hospital for their kindness and care. A special thank you to Frances and Linda for their support and loving touch. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday November 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
