GLADYS MARIE FESCHUK (nee MARTEL) On November 23, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer, peacefully at home, with her family at her side, Gladys passed away. She was born, raised and lived her entire 74 years in Fort Garry. Over the course of her lifetime, she held many different jobs including working at Eatons, Woolco, Gambles, McLeod's, Safeway and Perths but her greatest love was for her family. She had many interests including cooking, crocheting, knitting and sewing. Always welcomed and specially requested especially by all her grandchildren were French toast, crepes and Christmas meat pies. She was a very accomplished seamstress. Her family were welcome recipients of many of her homemade gifts. Her recreational interests including playing bingo and bowling in various leagues. She was very proud of her many bowling trophies. She was predeceased by her parents, Victoria and Edmond; sister Stella; brother Gabe. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Larry; daughters, Kim (Bob) son Chris (Joanne), twin great-granddaughters Katherine and Isobel, Bev (Larry) children, Jennifer, Joey (Krista), Miranda; Leslie (Steve) children, Michael and Stephanie (Ryan), as well as extended family including brothers-in-law, Ralph (Lorraine); Ed (Dianne) and numerous nieces and nephews. Respecting her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. The family wish to thank Mary and Heather from Home Care as well as the physicians from the Palliative Care Sub-Program and longtime family physician Dr. Hayward. Their care and support allowed our mother to remain at home as was her wish. We will always remember our mother for her enduring patience, sense of humour and her kind and generous heart. We will miss her dearly. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
