Ray was born in Winnipeg, living most of his life in St. James. Hardworking and skillful, anything he did, he did with pride. He worked for Canada Post as a railway mail clerk for 35 years. Ray enjoyed his retirement, dancing, working in the garden, traveling and camping. He was a familiar sight in St. James taking long walks with his dog. Ray will be deeply cherished and forever missed by his son Robert, his brothers Douglas (Hilda), Horace (Marie), his sister Evelyn (George), granddaughter Lucia and great-grandson Zachery, as well by family both in Winnipeg and across Canada. Ray was predeceased by his wife Isabelle, son Douglas, his sister Ethel and his parents Clifford and Lucy. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 605 Notre Dame Ave. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St, Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 GREEN ACRES FUNERAL HOME HWY #1 EAST AT NAVIN RD. 222-3241
