Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDO YEE (DOCTOR) LIM It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Do Yee Lim, on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital. Forever remaining to cherish his memory are his sons Dennis, Jimmy (Zulema), Thomas, John (Joyce); daughters, Stella (Albert), Mabel (Daniel); grandsons, Keith, Patrick, Chris, Calen, Clinton and Tim Lin; granddaughter, Tracy Wong; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Wai Woon. He was born November 1, 1919 in the city of Toisan, China. Do Yee immigrated to Canada with his family in 1966 after working as a teacher in Hong Kong for many years. He started out working as a cook in the New Canton Restaurant and was soon a celebrated chef among the local Chinese restaurants. He opened his own restaurant (Long Fong) in 1972 which was a crowd favourite in the seventies. He later worked in restaurants such as the Marigold, Moon Palace and Tangerines. His background knowledge as a teacher also earned him the nickname, Doctor. Do Yee enjoyed eating exquisite seafood, watching hockey, and listening to Chinese opera. He was a kind, considerate, loving dad, grandpa and friend, and we shall miss him dearly. Our sincere thanks go out to the exceptional nurses and staff for their tender loving care of Do Yee at 6E at Deer Lodge Centre and at 5E at the St. Boniface Hospital. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. and the wake on Thursday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Winnipeg Chinese Alliance Church. 261 Colony St. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in charge of arrangements. 775-2220.
