CLAUDIA BURG After a brave and intense struggle with cancer, Claudia peacefully answered the heavenly call of her Lord on Monday, November 28, 2005, at the age of 41. She will forever reside in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, especially her beloved husband, Jordan; sons, Maxwell and Louis; mother Adina Mielke, brother Werner (Marianne Rodrigues) Mielke (Alexander and Lara); sister Doris (Carson) Rist (Joshua and Lauren); and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Ted, in 1971. Claudia was born February 13, 1964 in Winnipeg. She graduated from Daniel McIntyre High School and completed her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Winnipeg. After four years of teaching in Jackhead, MB, where she met her husband, she took time off to raise her family back in Winnipeg. She resumed her teaching career at St. Edward's and Holy Cross schools once her sons were older. Claudia was a brilliant light, and she shone brightest when engaging in activities with her family. She enjoyed travelling, camping, and attending church, and especially enjoyed watching her sons excel in school, sports, and extracurriculars. She was especially proud of Max for his many achievements in soccer and hockey, and of Lou for his many roles in theatrical plays and movies. She also loved visiting and entertaining friends, and was a creative hostess. An avid reader, she had a love of literature, theatre, and movies. She had a deep relationship with God, a strong conscience, and a profound sense of social justice. She was intelligent, witty, cheerful, and above all, a devoted wife and mother. The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers for their compassionate treatment and care. Funeral service will be held on, Thursday, December 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Mission Baptist Church, 771 Sargent Ave., with Pastor David Henkelman officiating. Reception to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for Claudia's sons. Donations can be made at any TD Canada Trust. Cheques are accepted made to Jordan Burg in Trust for Maxwell and Louis Burg. Blessed are the people who persevere under trial, because when they have stood the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 339-5555
