VIRGILIO GIL O. DE CASTRO With deepest sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our dear husband and father, Virgilio Gil de Castro, on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at St. Boniface General Hospital at the young age of 45. Gil was born in the Philippines on December 16, 1959 and came to Canada in 1979. Gil was a loving and caring husband and father who was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Gil was quite a handyman and also enjoyed sports, music, computers, and the outdoors. Gil worked at Burroughs Business Machines (Unisys) from 1979 to 1993. In 1994 to 2001, Gil worked at Princess Auto Ltd with the Manufacturing department and later as Systems Administrator. In the last four years he lived a happy and quiet life at home with his family after miraculously overcoming a major obstacle in 2001. Gil married Lourdes Tungcul in 1980 and they raised two daughters, Jennifer Ann and Sheena Marie. He was predeceased by his father (Benjamin) and brother (Arturo). Gil is survived by his mother (Victorina); siblings Tessie (Jim Graham), Rene, Noel (Leony), Vicky; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff, especially ER, ICM, Palliative Care, at St. Boniface General Hospital for all their support and prayers. Dad, we will miss you and will cherish all our fun and happy memories together. Thank you for all you've taught us and we know you'll be watching over us. We love you.
