JOHN STANLEY CANCILLA September 27, 1939 - November 27, 2005 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of John at age 66. John was predeceased by his parents, John and Bea. He is mourned by his daughter Lisa; sister Janice (Leonard) of Gimli; brother Ron of British Columbia; wife Pauline; and special friend of many years Florence. John also leaves behind nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins and many dear friends. John lived in the West End all his life, attending high school at Daniel McIntyre, he went on to work at CN in the tax department, retiring after 35 years of service. John was an avid curler all his life, curling a couple times a week, he also enjoyed golfing and attending the Goldeyes games, with his spare time he loved working in his garden, travelling with friends and spending time at the lake or on the farm. John was a proud member of the John Osborne AN and AF No 1 and made a lot of vested friendships over the years and up until the very end. John was a huge animal lover, he enjoyed their gentle spirit and tranquility they provide, especially the family dog Jackson. How long we live is not for us to say; We may have years ahead - or but one day. The length of life is not of our control, But length is not the measure of the soul - Not length, but width and depth define the span By which the world takes measure of a man. It matters not how long before we sleep, but only how wide is our life- how deep. A celebration of John's life will be held on Friday, December 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the John Osborne V.C. Army and Navy, Unit No.1, 300 - 1395 Ellice Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., or the John Osborne AN AF No 1, 300 - 1395 Ellice Ave. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.
