VALERIE JANE (JEAN) HEDIN It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our mother and grandmother, Valerie Jane (Jean) Hedin on November 29, 2005, at Park Manor Nursing Home. Mom was born in Cornwall, England, on August 20, 1918, coming to Canada as a young girl. Raised and educated in Winnipeg, she moved to Lac du Bonnet where she met William. She was predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill); her sister Viola Parker; and her daughter Diane Hedin. Jean is survived by her son Wayne (Liz); daughter Gloria McClure (Peter); son Kenneth of Winkler; grandchildren, Trina, Marnie, Cory, Steven and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Shayna, Tristan and Alison; sister Gwen (Mal) Martin of Strathmore, AB; and nephew Cory Martin (Lorrie) of Calgary. Mom enjoyed her nursing career, working at Health Sciences Centre for 20 years. She was a kind, compassionate mother and nurse. Mom would also want us to extend a special thank-you to the wonderful staff at Park Manor Nursing Home for their excellent care. Rest now, Jean (Mom) - you will be greatly missed but never forgotten. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time. A private interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Transcona Funeral Chapel.
