ROBERT JOSEPH MELANSON Peacefully, on Sunday, November 27, 2005, Robbie Uncle Bob Bubba passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 61 years. He is survived by sisters, Edme, Ovidia (Ron), Anna, Mildred (Al), Doreen (Al) and Joyce; brothers, Donat (Cynthia), Joseph and Thomas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rob was predeceased by his parents Henry and Pearl; brothers, Raymond, Ernest, Howard and Roger; sister Rita and special niece Diane. Rob lived life in the passing lane and never met a mirror he didn't like. A lifelong lothario, Rob had an appreciation of fancy cars and women. Rob enjoyed trucking, his lifelong occupation and the opportunities it offered him by visiting new places and meeting new people. Rob was a favourite uncle to many of his brothers and sisters children and spent numerous hours with them imparting some of his unique outlook on life. In his younger days, Rob was generous with his time and money, thinking nothing of helping out with a few dollars sometimes and even providing vehicles to those in his family who needed his help. Rob, we will never forget what you meant to us in those times and we love you for it. Rob's illness took a heavy toll on his body and his personality and he was no longer the man we knew and loved. He had lost that joy of life that had been his trademark and which endeared him to his many friends and family. Rob's last few years were a struggle. Special thanks and gratitude go to his sister Edme. Brother Tom and niece Crystal for helping to provide for and care for Rob. It wasn't always easy, but you were always there for him. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the trying times. The family would also like to thank MRHA Homecare workers who cared for Robbie and Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Reception to follow at the Nor-Villa Motor Hotel, 1763 Henderson Hwy. An interment will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Robbie, Uncle Bob, Bubba, we love you and we will miss you. Rest in Peace, our Brother and Uncle.
