ERMA KATHLEEN STE. MARIE (nee TURRIFF) Born March 23, 1918 in Transcona, passed away peacefully Monday, November 28, 2005 at Concordia Hospital after a short illness. Predeceased in September 2004 by Robert, her loving husband of 64 years. Erma is survived by her son Bill and wife Lorraine of California; grandchildren Greg (Karen) and Leslie (Kevin) of British Columbia and daughter Lorna and husband Gary; grandsons Michel (Robyn) and Terrell (Helen) of Winnipeg. In her youth, Erma was an accomplished speed skater and tennis player. Later in life, she became an avid curler and followed a wide range of sports with enthusiasm. Erma's ability to bake, make pickles, candy and other sumptuous treats was a constant source of joy to her family and friends. She was a life long supporter of the Transcona Memorial United Church and a member of the UCW. The family wishes to express its thanks to Dr. P. Harris and the dedicated third floor staff of Concordia Hospital and to Dr. N. Woo and the third floor staff of Victoria Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. West on Tuesday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Transcona Memorial United Church.
