BRIDGET ANN FARRELL October 15, 1918 - November 30, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg Inc. Mother was born in St. Mary's Bay, NL on October 15, 1918 where she lived until age eleven. At this time her mother passed away and she went to live in St. John's at the Belvedere Orphanage until she was eighteen. When Grandmother Farrell's health began to decline and she needed care our grandfather wrote to the orphanage to ask for a live-in care-giver. It was our dear mother who answered the call for help. That was how our mother ended up in the Codroy Valley area of Newfoundland some five hundred miles from where she was born. It was there she met and married our dad and raised a big family. Mom was a very hard working homemaker whose main focus was always on her family. She remained in Newfoundland until 1995 when her health started to fail and she moved to Winnipeg to be with family. She was predeceased by our father John (Jack) Farrell in 1976, her mother and father Ellen and James Gibbons, her brothers, Harold, Alonzo (Marie) and Steve (Isabel) and by one son Michael. She leaves to mourn her seven remaining children and their families: John and Bessie of Acton, ON, Millie and Bill Barboni of Dryden, ON, Ed and Jean of Hay River, NT, Ellen and Bob Orr of Winnipeg, MB, Brian and Karen of Codroy Valley, NL, Stan and Patricia of Codroy Valley, NL, and Patricia and Dave Butt of Creston, BC. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and we will take her back to her beautiful Island Home for burial at a later date. Our family would like to extend thanks to the wonderful staff at Middlechurch Home, especially the staff on West 2 Unit for the great care mother received during her short stay. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in mom's memory can be made to the Resident's Council Fund at Middlechurch Home Of Winnipeg Inc., 280 Balderstone Road, West St. Paul MB R4A 4A6. Each of us in our own special way remember you with love today. A wonderful mom will always hold a special place in our hearts. We all love you Mom. (Mom! Everyday I thank God for the circumstances that brought you to live in Winnipeg. I feel very fortunate to have had ten beautiful years of being able to spend precious time with you.) Ellen To Annette, Catherine, Donna and Iris my very dear friends who are always there when I need them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart - Ellen CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
