TERESA PIMENTEL (nee RIBEIRO) Peacefully, after a brief illness, it is with deep regret that the family announces the death of Teresa, on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 76. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her sons, Joe (Diana), John (Mary), Fernando (Lucie), Tony (Liz), and Mario (Diane); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michelle (Vince), Michael (Jessica), Linda, Tanya, Christina, Amanda, Adam, Alexander, Evan, Katrina, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Brianna and Bianca; brothers, Antonio (Eduarda), Daniel (Regina) and Eduardo (Noema) Ribeiro; her husband's cousin Joao (Lurdes) Pimentel as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Aristides in 2004, father Joao in 1964 and mother Maria in 1939. Teresa was born in Sao Miguel Portugal and one of her greatest joys in life came from being with her family and raising her three brothers after her mother and grandmother had passed on. She delighted in raising her five sons alone, while her husband was in Canada trying to make a better life for them. In 1967 she and the family joined dad and settled in Winnipeg. She loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Ave., with Rev. Fr. Mark Tarrant presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Special thanks to the staff at Victoria General Hospital.
