Date of Passing: Dec 02, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORETTA CATHERINE SPILLER (nee KINAHAN) On Friday, December 2, 2005, Loretta Spiller passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital, with family by her side. Loretta was predeceased by her husband Chas last year, her sister Mary and brother Gene. She is survived by her daughter Teresa, grandchildren Karen and Nathan, brothers John (Flo) and Tom (Kath) and sister Margaret, and many nieces and nephews. Lorrie was born and raised in Winnipeg, graduating from St. Mary's Academy and working at Great West Life until she and Chas were married in 1947 and settled a few years later in Norwood Flats. Lorrie lived a full and active life, raising and caring for her family, volunteering at the Red Cross blood donor clinic for many years, driving Meals on Wheels, curling at the Granite, playing bridge with the girls, and last but not least golfing at Niakwa where she and Charlie were members for over 50 years. Even in her late 70's, Lorrie could be found playing basketball with her grandchildren when she and Chas would visit them in Ottawa. Lorrie is remembered with great love by her family. We are glad she is at peace and reunited with her companion in life Chas. Special thanks to Rick, Jane and Stephanie for being with Mom as she left us. At Lorrie's request, no formal funeral service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J COUTU CO.
