EMMA SCHIAVONI, S.F.O. Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Emma passed away on Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Grace General Hospital. Remaining to forever cherish Emma's memory are her daughter Joanne; sister-in-law Lucille Schiavoni of New Brunswick, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Max (1977); infant daughter Marilene (1954); brother Frank (1981) and sister Anna (1996). Emma was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, having been admitted to Holy Profession in 1948. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 8 at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church (Assiniboia Christian Centre), 3390 Portage Ave., with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H., V.F. presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be Messrs: Denis Giasson, Roger Giasson, Eric Eisbrenner, Stan Blady, Phillip Blady, Andreas Bludau, and John Reczek. A special thank you to Anne Whitwell and Mary and Eric Eisbrenner for all their help and support during this difficult time. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides of 2 North, Extendicare Oakview Place for looking after Emma these past four years and to the doctors, nurses and aides of the Grace General Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emma's memory to Villa Rosa, 784 Wolseley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 4C6.
