STEVE BOITSON January 16, 1915 - December 4, 2005 Peacefully, with family by his side, Dad passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital. He was formerly of Winnipeg Beach and spent the last three years at the Red River Place in Selkirk. Steve was predeceased by his wife Stella in 1983; his parents Peter and Anne; sisters, Rose (Tony) Bondarchuk, Beatrice (Knute) Sorenson, Mary (Harry) Pidruchney and Lillian (Steve) Naften; brothers, Harry, Fred, Nick, Bill and William; son-in-law Ron Bernstrom and granddaughter Brenda Basarab. He will be sadly missed by his children, Archie (Nancy), Bill (Anne), Deanna (Adolph), Linda (Ron), Marlene and Bev (Alf); 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Zelenitsky and Helen Hoel; sisters-in-law, Bernice Boitson and Urlene Boitson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Victor and Anne Srutwa; brother-in-law Peter Maruschak; sister-in-law Anne Hryckiw; his special friend Helen Slater and numerous nieces and nephews. As per his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli with Sister Cathy Laviolette officiating. A reception in his honour will be held at the Winnipeg Beach Legion Hall following the service. Private burial. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Red River Place for the wonderful care given to our Dad. Also thank you to the wonderful nurses at the Selkirk General Hospital for the compassionate care Dad had on his last day. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad's memory can be sent to the Gateway Foundation, Box 172, Winnipeg Beach, MB, R0C 3G0. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk and Gimli in care of arrangements.
