Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY LITTLE (nee STEELE, nee SYKES) April 29, 1914 - December 4, 2005 Sadly we announce the passing of Dorothy, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, on Sunday morning, December 4, 2005 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Steele in 1954 and most recently by her life long friend Vi Moffat in November, 2005. Family and friends who will dearly miss her include; husband Ray, son Donald (Beth) with Michael, Kerri, Wes and Katelynn; daughter Roberta (Rick) with Jason and Jordan; daughter Joan (Bernie) with Shaelyn and Janelle; daughter Cathy (Lindsay) with Derek and Jordie; son-in-law Dan (Viv); extended family, Judy (Bill), with Michael, Danny, Brady, Joanne (George) with Jennifer, Shaun, Bryan and Robert, Mona with Jillian, Alison and Sarah, cousins; Ida, Gord, Allan, Joe, Ollie and Pat, special friends; Billy, Rod and Dwight. Dorothy grew up in North Winnipeg where Atlantic Avenue United Church became the centre of activity for her family and friends. She enjoyed tennis, skating and summer ventures to the beaches and lakes for swimming and boating. She loved to travel and throughout her life ventured to many parts of the world. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to play cards, crochet, go for long walks, picking flowers along the way and shopping for the best deal . Cooking and entertaining for her family always gave her such pleasure. She was an avid reader who always kept a sharp mind doing daily crossword puzzles. Her favourite time of year was undoubtedly Christmas where she would spend many an hour baking and decorating her home with all her family favourites. Dorothy's love of people was shared with all the families, which she has been a part of over the years. She will always be remembered by everyone as a real Sweetheart. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and volunteer staff on the 8th Floor Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to; Springs Inner City, 648 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2W 2A7. It is sad to learn of your passing, yet it is nice to know that you are now with God and leave your sufferings behind. I very much cherish the many Sunday breakfasts that you, Ray, Mom and I went to. I shall remember you in my prayers. My sincere condolences to Ray and the family.
