Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE ESABELLE WHITEHEAD (nee MacKenzie) Sadly, we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Marie Whitehead on Saturday, December 3, 2005. She is survived by her husband Jack; daughters, Lynda (Jim), Cathy, Janice (Mark) and son Ian (Brenda). She will be missed by her grandchildren, Carrie, Christy (Dave), Nicole and Mathew; great-granddaughter MacKenzie; brother-in-law Ernie; sister-in-law Mildred, and many nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by brothers, Angus, Ronnie, George and Jack; a sister Kay; sisters-in-law, Polly, Joyce, Phyllis, Molly and Edith; brother-in-law Frank and her granddaughter Lindsay. Marie was born on September 3, 1922 in Wroxton, SK and lived most of her adult life in Winnipeg, retiring to Matlock in 1986. She served with the C.W.A.C. during the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years. She met the love of her life, Jack, and they were married on November 26, 1948. Marie and Jack shared 57 wonderful years together. She devoted her life to her family. She liked to knit and crochet and liked nothing better than to play a game of cards. Cremation has taken place and family and friends are invited to come and celebrate her life at the Winnipeg Beach Legion at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7 with Padre Rainie McKinnon officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice. Thank you to the First Responders of the Village of Dunnotter and the staff at the Gimli Hospital. A special thanks to Marie's friends, Linda, Janet and Kate.
