LORRAINE MARY FREEMAN (nee MCTAVISH) January 2, 1954 - December 2, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Freeman. Lorraine passed away quietly on December 2nd in Winnipeg after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Lorraine was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Lorraine is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 33 years, E. Keith Freeman; her three children Jennifer Lynn, Jacqueline Marie and Keith Tyler; Mother Reta Coutts, mother-in-law Margaret Freeman and her siblings Sam Ronald McTavish, Dodie Patricia Gaudry, Janie Delma Green, and Robert Coutts and their families. Lorraine was predeceased by her Father Delmar McTavish and sister Louise Anna Venne. Lorraine was a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Sister and caring friend to many. She was active in the Metis community, a founder of the Metis Cultural and Heritage Resource Centre and she was deeply passionate about preserving and spreading knowledge of Metis Culture. She will be deeply missed, always loved and never forgotten. A celebration of Lorraine's life will be held Saturday, December 10th, at 1 p.m. at the Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave. Reception to follow on the 6th floor of the Hammond building, 63 Albert St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Metis Cultural and Heritage Resource Centre, 504-63 Albert St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 1G4, or phone (204)956-7767.
