Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER GEORGE BALAK May 6, 1918 - November 29, 2005 Peter passed away peacefully at Riverview Health centre on Tuesday, November 29, 2005. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Jeanne, December 1997; his parents Andrew and Pearl Balak; siblings, Matt, Nick, Lois, Mary and Vernice. He is survived by siblings, Anne, Fred, John, Marta, Ellen, Michael, Margaret, Paul and Betty. He was fifth in a family of 15 children. Peter loved and treasured his parents and siblings. He enjoyed spending time to reminisce about early days and share life's ventures. He leaves to treasure his memory six children: sons, Denis, Allan (Marge), Lee Andrew, daughters, Carol, Michelle, Sharon (Russell); grandchildren, Raphael, Rachael, Tammy, Ruel Ashley, Sandy, Keith, David, Amanda, Alan, David (Rickijo), Craig (Cherie), Kevin (Jennifer), Nathan, Nicholas, Josh, Andrew and Chelsea; great- grandchildren, Brett and Haley. Dad was a salesman his whole career with over 55 years in the cookware business. He established many long term friendships and enjoyed travel and life. He had a good life, worked hard and we will remember his encouragement, love and philosophies of life. He had a very special relationship with his grandchildren who gave him great joy. Special thanks to lifelong friends, Cleveland and Ida Langford, their family and to Peter's brother and wife, John and Lillian, for sharing visits during his lifetime in good and bad times. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to our family physician, Dr. B. J. Sharkey for his care and support over the years, Dr. Crawford and the caring staff at Riverview Health Centre during his final days and the Pastoral Services Team for providing refreshment of body and soul. Rest in peace and love Dad. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, on Saturday, December 10, 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barry Schoonbaert the celebrant.
