Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD H. LANCHBERY 1928 - 2005 It is with deepest sadness, that we announce the loss of our father, grandfather and husband, Gerald H. Lanchbery at the St. Boniface Hospital on December 8, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn are his children, Alison (Chris), and their children, Jemma, William and Thomas, and Sheldon (Irene), and their children Meagan and Gerald. Also, his wife Mattie and her children, Heather, Brian and Shelley and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerald was born in Cartwright, MB, on September 24, 1928. He was the middle child born to Herbert and Gladys Lanchbery. He is also survived by his sisters, Audrey (Ken) McTaggart and Muriel Revel. The three Lanchbery children were inseparable in life. Gerald not only lived life, he revelled in it. This family and friends were the cornerstone of his life. Gerald enjoyed people. If Gerald was your friend, he was your friend for life. Loyalty was not a word for Gerald, it was his way of life. Whatever the difficulty, Gerald would always be there for you. No questions asked. To have someone like this in your life was truly special. Gerald was predeceased by his wife Jean in 1994. Jean was the love of his life. Her death created a profound sadness that the family thought would never cease. Finding Mattie saw a return to the old Gerry, and Sheldon and Alison will be forever thankful for the years they spent together. The family would like to thank the heath care professionals at Cancer Care Manitoba, the Grace Hospital and the St. Boniface Hospital for their loving care provided to Gerald. A special thank you to the nurses in CVT step down at the St. Boniface, who treated Gerald as one of their own in his final days. Gerald had an adventuresome spirit that led to an insatiable love of life. His motto was never to look back, to follow whatever life's roads took one, never regretting any decision made. He lived life to the fullest. To those that knew him and loved him, it is this spirit that gives us great comfort at his time of passing. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 600 Cambridge at Corydon. A private interment will occur at a later date in the family plot in Cartwright, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4A6, the Cartwright (Manitoba) Independent School, or a charity of one's choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

It is with great sadness my wife and I learned of Gerry's passing. He was my former Terminal Manager at C.P Transport, and a great one he was. The 12 years we worked together Gerry always made it fun even in the tough times. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Family, his loss is a big hole that can never be filled. - Posted by: Geoffrey & Penny Walker (Family) on: Dec 09, 2005
