Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE ROBERT S. INKSTER Peacefully, on Monday, December 5, 2005, George Inkster passed away at his residence. He is survived by his two sons, Robert Ian Carter (Elaine) and John David; and his sister Dorothy Tatchell and family (Kelowna, BC). He was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife Ruth on January 6, 1999; his parents David and Jessie Inkster; brothers, Gordon and David; and sister Kay McEwen. George was born in Winnipeg, February 21, 1921, and spent most of his life in East Kildonan. He joined Imperial Oil Limited in 1947 and after an interesting career opted for early retirement in 1978. George served on the board of the Kildonan Scholarship Foundation for five years; the last two years as President. A former member of the Masonic Lodge #131, he went on to become a Shriner and a piper with The Khartum Pipes and Drums. George was also a board member of The St. Andrew's Society of Winnipeg, serving as President in 1985. Dad showed great pride in his Scottish heritage and thoroughly enjoyed his research of The Inkster Clan history. His trips with the pipe band and to Scotland to visit relatives were a great source of pleasure. Both Dad and Mom enjoyed gardening and their beautiful yard was proof of this. As per George's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to a charity of your choice.
