MAURICE H. WILLIAMSON After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Maurice passed away on December 4, 2005, peacefully in his sleep at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 75. He was born on April 11, 1930 in Belmont, MB. Maurice was predeceased by his wife Anne; his mother and father; brother Raymond; and sister Patsy and nephew Ricky. He will be remembered by his two brothers Orville of Grosse Isle, Jim of Winnipeg; two sisters Ruby of Winnipeg, Shirley of Stonewall; plus many other relatives and friends. Maurice joined the Armed Forces in 1955. He and Anne travelled to many countries before retiring in 1980. Then they settled in Winnipeg. Maurice enjoyed doing some commercial fishing with some of his buddies in the winter. In summer he enjoyed going to the old homestead at Oak Point, cutting grass, picking saskatoons and growing his big purple potatoes. We would like to thank a very special friend of Maurice's, Dorothy Wollmann. They shared a very special friendship. Thank-you Dorothy for your endless care, love and support during his illness. He could always count on you to be there for him. Also another special friend, Esther for her visits and help. We shared many tears, hugs, laughter and prayers for which we thank you. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and volunteers at Riverview Palliative care on Three East. A memorial service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall on Sunday, December 11, at 3:00 p.m. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will take place at Lundar in the spring. Thank-you for joining us for the celebration of Maurice's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to CancerCare Manitoba in his memory. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
