CHRIS JORGENSON Chris passed away suddenly, but quietly, on Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at the Morris General Hospital. He was predeceased by his mom Pat in 1992 and his dad Warner this past July. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Linda and husband Roger Miller of Lantzville, BC, and Patti Jorgenson of Morris; as well as his many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Chris was born on April 14, 1955, at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg. In his early years, the family lived on the farm at Ste. Elizabeth, in Ottawa and Morris. His education began with Kindergarten in Ottawa and early grades in Morris. Most of Chris's schooling was at St. John's Cathedral Boy's School near Selkirk. There he sang in the choir, paddled hundreds of miles on canoe trips and made sausages. Following graduation in 1973 he took an electrical course at Red River Community College. Upon completion of a training course in Chicago, in 1974 Chris went to work on the DEW Line, where he remained until the early 1990s, when he returned to Morris and Winnipeg. He worked as an office manager for J Sons, Stampede Manager of the 2005 Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition, and most recently the manager of the Valley Ag Society. Chris was an electronics junkie. He loved cats, golf, crosswords and going to Las Vegas. He was known for his dry sense of humour. Cremation has taken place, and the interment will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morris Cemetery. A celebration of Chris's life will be held on Monday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Southern Manitoba Convention Centre, Stampede Grounds, in Morris. If friends so desire, donations in Chris's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, or a charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I had the pleasure of sharing a few meat room shifts at St. John's with Chris. I recall his chubby cheeks, sparkling eyes, and an infectious grin as we stuffed "mogue" into sausage skins. He infused warmth into that cold room. My sincere condolences to his friends and kin. - Posted by: Steve King (Friend) on: Dec 30, 2005
