JOHANNA SIGRIDUR COUVES (NORDAL) We wish to share with you the passing of our mother Johanna on December 7, 2005, at the age of 86. Joey was a strong, loving and compassionate woman completely dedicated to her family all her life. In many ways a renaissance woman: she was a singer, potter, painter, gardener and seamstress, she embraced life fully. We five children encircled her with our love keeping a vigil over her, with the amazing help of the caring staff and her loyal companion Spencer the cat, at Noric House in Vernon, BC. Thank you to all of you who sent love and prayers to her during her last difficult days. Johanna was predeceased by her husband Cecil and one son Robert. She will be forever cherished by her five children, Colleen (Keith), Dianne, Ron (Pam), Brian (Helen), Brent (Michele); 11 grandchildren, Darian (Teresa), Travis (Jill), Tony, Ben (Shelley), Amye (Mardy), Meghan, Michael, Mark, Noel, Riley, Cam; and five great-grandchildren, Keenan, Kiana, Jenna, Elly and Emmett. She will be treasured in the memories of her many relatives in Manitoba and her dear friends around the world. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund or to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
