Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD (TED) CHARLES HUGHES June 21, 1921 - November 20, 2005 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Ted Hughes on Sunday, November 20, 2005, at Valley Haven Guest Home in Chilliwack, BC. Ted was born in Rosser, MB, and moved to Stonewall, MB, in 1950 where he spent most of his life farming and raising a family. Ted was Past President and Life Member of the Stonewall Canadian Legion and was also an active part of the community for many years. Ted is survived by Marge Riel, his beloved partner of 32 years; and his four children, still living in Manitoba, Roseann Nichol (Lorne), Lesley Hughes Pasuta (Steve), Sharron Klinkhammer (Bryan) and Scott Hughes (Kim); along with 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition, he is also survived by his three sisters, Hazel, Kay and Grace. Ted will also be remembered by his stepchildren in British Columbia, John (Danielle), Ted (Loretta), and in Manitoba, Allison (Richard), Eric (Yola), along with their children and grandchildren. His many other friends in British Columbia, Manitoba, Thunder Bay and Harlingen, TX, will miss his presence as well. Ted and Marge moved from Manitoba to Chilliwack in 1994 where they met new friends golfing and fishing. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service was held on Friday, November 25 at Henderson's Funeral Home in Chilliwack. There will also be a celebration of life for Ted in Stonewall on Wednesday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stonewall Legion prior to his final resting place at Brookside Cemetery in Winnipeg, MB. Should family and friends so desire, donations to Valley Guest House (Activity Fund), 45460 Menholm Rd., Chilliwack, BC V2P 1M2, would be appreciated. Their exceptional care and kindness during Ted's stay at the home will be treasured forever.
