Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES GARLAND AND LATE HUSBAND BOB GARLAND Frances passed away peacefully at Penticton Regional Hospital on December 5, 2005, at the age of 90. Survived by her loving children, Sherrill (Grant) Nordal of Penticton, BC, Allan Garland of Ottawa, ON; grandson Robert Nordal of Birmingham, Alabama and great-grandson Alexander. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Bob Garland (2004), her eldest child Robert (1956) and by her three younger siblings Miriam, Ruth and Barbara. Frances was born, raised and spent many years in Winnipeg, MB. She was a graduate of the Toronto Conservatory of Music, an accomplished pianist, music teacher and seamstress who made clothes for herself and her family. She worked with Sears in Winnipeg for 16 years before she and Bob retired to the Okanagan in 1976. Frances was a longtime member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, and she and Bob enjoyed many vacations to different parts of the world. Frances and Bob founded the Bob and Frances Garland Fund with the community Foundation of the South Okanagan. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Trinity Care Centre, Penticton, BC and Penticton Regional Hospital for their loving and compassionate care. There will be a time of visitation for the late Frances Garland on Sunday, December 11 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Parkview Funeral Home, 1258 Main St., Penticton, BC. Cremation to follow. Memorial tributes may be made to the Trinity Care Centre, 75 Green Ave. West, Penticton, BC V2A 7N6. Condolences may be directed to the family: parkview@vip.net
