ALIX ADRIAENSSENS (nee RENAUD) Peacefully sleeping, our mother and grandmother, Alix was reunited with her beloved husband, Albert, on Tuesday, December 6, 2005. Alix was born in Bruxelles, MB on October 8, 1910, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Rachel Renaud. As a child, Alix lived in various places including Belgium and France. After the passing of her father, the family returned to Canada and settled in Swan Lake, MB Following the war, Alix met the love of her life and married Albert Adriaenssens on May 19, 1947. They remained in Swan Lake until 1963 when they relocated to Winnipeg. Mom contributed her good health and longevity to her positive attitude, but her unselfishness, patience, determination and tremendous sense of humour were also contributing factors. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She treasured the many wonderful times she spent with them. She happily reminisced about the many adventures in her life which included the wonderful trips she and Albert took traveling across Canada. After Albert's passing in 1988, she continued to live a fulfilling life occupying her time; sewing, reading and mastering the art of being the best cribbage player ever. In 2002, Alix went to reside at Oakview Place Personal Care Home. The wonderful compassion and care she received there enabled her to reach another milestone, the celebration of her 95th birthday. Left to forever cherish her memory are her daughter, Claire and son-in-law Al Haus; granddaughters, Dawn and husband Chris Lott, Heather and husband Devin Newton; grandson Michael; brother-in-law Bill Allan; as well as several nieces and nephews. Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Oakview Place. A private family funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Blvd. Alix's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
