MELFORD CLARE SANDERCOCK 1918 - 2005 On December 8, 2005, Melford Mel Clare Sandercock, aged 87 years of Morden, MB, passed away peacefully at Boundary Trails Health Centre. Mel is survived by his devoted wife of over 60 years, Hazel (nee Griffin) Sandercock, of Morden; three daughters, Donna (Ron) Johansen, Glenda (Bill) Ramsay and their family, Janelle, Darin, Tyson and Garvin; Merle (Brian) Gadsby and their family, Ame (Ryan), Tim and Amber; one son Bill (Linda) and their family Dana (Westin) and Allison; three brothers, Edgar, Bert and Garry; two sisters, Velma Keith and Mavis Cram; two sisters-in-law Florence and Betty. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Emma Sandercock; and three brothers, Melville, Walter and Doug; and one sister Marion Patterson. Mel helped on the family farm until he married Hazel in 1945 at which time he took over the farm. He worked it until 1981, when they moved into Morden and continued to help his son with the farming operation. Mel was an active member of the Friendship Centre where he enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard. He also golfed and curled regularly well into his 80s. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church at 353 Thornhill St., Morden, with Doug Craig officiating. Inurnment will follow at Nelsonville Cemetery, Dunston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Boundary Trails Health Centre MRI Fund, Box 2000, Winkler, MB R6W 1H8, or to the Eden Mental Health Centre, Box 129, Winkler, MB R6W 4A4.
