JOHN WARRENCHUK November 3, 1925 - December 8, 2005 Peacefully, with his family by his side, John Warrenchuk passed away at the Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 80. John's memory will be deeply cherished by his loving wife of 54 years Kathie; his son Gerry (Heather); his daughters, Janice (Doug) Leroux, Diane (Ernie) Mee, and Wendy (Sean) Post; his grandchildren Jonathan (Michelle) and Leanne Warrenchuk; Ryan, Krysten, and Scott Leroux; Josh, Jill, and Cait Post; his brothers Peter (Pat), Walter, and Clarence (Ethel); nieces, nephews, and friends. John was born and raised in East Selkirk, MB. He served his country as a seaman in the Naval Forces of Canada during the Second World War. John took great pride in being a Veteran. John married Kathie in 1951 and raised their four children in both East Elmwood and West Kildonan. John was a skilled carpenter and foreman who worked for Benjaminson Construction for 23 years. He then joined Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation as a Building Inspector until his retirement in 1991. John was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church and an active member of the Men's Club. He was proud to have been recently awarded a life-time membership with the Knights of Columbus, Father Shyshkowich Council. John was well-known for his building expertise and never hesitated to lead or offer assistance on any church project. His handy work is everywhere and will be forever cherished by his children and grandchildren. John's family, friends, and church were the hallmarks of his life. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Dr. David Crawford, and the homecare workers who cared for John. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in John's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund or to a charity of your choice. Prayers will be held on Monday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 13 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue with Father Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
