REGINALD (REG) CHARLES LLOYD With deep sadness the family of Reg announces his unexpected passing on Friday, December 9, 2005 at the Selkirk General Hospital with his family by his side. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Sharon, son Kevin, sister Lucille (Roy) as well as many other family members and friends. Reg was born on May 5, 1946 to Christopher and Emilie Lloyd and grew up in Selkirk. Upon completing school, he obtained employment with Canada Safeway as a butcher and also at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. He was an avid golfer, played hockey, loved swimming, jogging, music and many great vacations at Clear Lake. Special times were spent with family in Cypress River, MB. In his mid-twenties, Reg began his struggle with mental illness and with the help of his excellent care givers, he fought this disease with faith, great courage and dignity. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre for their wonderful care and support shown to Reg over the years. Thank you also to the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital. A private family service will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bethel Chapel, 200 Main St. Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
