WILLIAM ROBERT (BILL) LIVINGSTON January 5, 1934 - December 9, 2005 William Robert (Bill) Livingston of Starbuck, Manitoba, peacefully passed away with family by his side, at Victoria General Hospital on Friday, December 9, 2005. Bill has gone to the Lord and joins his father Robert Leslie Livingston, son Robert Kim Livingston and granddaughter Tianna Livingston. Bill leaves behind his mother of 99, Mary Ellen Livingston; loving wife of 47 years, Helen (nee Last); children, Andy (Maria), Dan, Linda (Dave Nielsen) and Wanda along with his seven grandchildren, Erik, Kylie, Zachary, Dawson, Jessica, Marissa and Katya, each of whom have shared in creating some of the greatest memories and joys of Bill's life. Bill grew up on a farm near Starbuck along with his sister Jean (Obert Johnson) and Roy (Inga). Bill, Roy and cousin Frank (Al) Aitken, known as the three Muskateers, spent many a day either creating mischief or escaping the repercussions of such. Fond memories abound from those early years on the farm. Bill met Helen at a Brunkhild gathering on New Years Eve, 1955. They married three years later on September 26, 1958. Bill started out as a trucker and returned to farm with Roy and his father in the mid 1960s. Bill and Helen started a new homestead on the present farm site near Starbuck during the fall 1963 with two young children at foot and three more, soon to follow. Bill's favourite past times were camping with his family, fishing and hunting with his buddies and taking Helen, his kids and grandchildren for a drive in the country. Aside from the 40 years of farming, Bill became a highly accomplished woodsman, building his own saw mill and helping to construct his eldest daughter's (Lil [Dave]) log house, on land immediately adjacent to the farmstead. Bill was tenacious and visionary fellow. If he saw something he needed or wanted, he would build it. Bill spent most of the last 10 years surrounded by his grandchildren, sharing with them the joys of farm-life. We love you Grandpa. You will be missed dearly by all. A special thank you to the nurses, support staff and physicians at the Victoria General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Starbuck, MB with interment to follow in the Starbuck Cemetery.
